Runners & Triathletes
This workshop is aimed at all levels of recreational athletes, from those new to running to seasoned runners, from Parkruns, triathlons to Ultra Marathon’s. Whatever your experience you’ll learn lots of valuable information and leave with plenty of practical hints and tips that you can apply to your running straight away.
I’ll be running this half day workshop from my gym (Lion Fitness – Selby) and at the running track (Goole Victoria Pleasure Grounds). I’m a British Triathlon coach and UKSCA accredited, I’ve been coaching recreational athletes like you for almost 10 years.
We’ll be covering the following topics, and of course allowing time for Q&A’s.
AT THE GYM (2 hours) – Start time 9:30am
RUNNING MECHANICS & TECHNIQUE – Simple things to improve overall running form.
HOW TO PLAN YOUR TRAINING – Running volume and intensity on a weekly and monthly basis, how to make it specific to your goals and how to avoid overtraining.
STRENGTH TRAINING & PLYOMETRIC EXERCISES – How they improve running economy and reduce the risk of injuries (this will include demonstrations and a small amount of practical work).
AT THE TRACK (1 hour) – Start time 12:00pm
PRE-RUN DRILLS & DYNAMIC STRETCHES (the when, how & what) plus cool down stretching – do you even need to do them?
COACHED INTERVAL SESSION – This will be set to the ability of the individual.
